This thing is about a foot long, over 2 times as large as your basic stud finder. The accuracy is great, and the ability to sense the edge and center of the stud is helpful. HOWEVER, the unit is so massive it's very difficult to mark the location of the stud since there is no laser marker. The center point of the unit is not marked, so even though the great LCD display tells you where the edge and center are, actually marking them is a near impossible. Total product oversight and I wish I could send it back. It would have been so easy to put and LED or laser marker to help you pencil in the location on the wall. Did I mention it was huge? I can't fit it in a drawer...10"x5"x6"...wow!
