Milwaukee Electric Tool Corp. is the first company to announce its commitment to ELECTRI International's Partners for Progress program and their pledge to work together to help electrical contractors meet today’s demands and tomorrow’s challenges.
A tough economy and slowing construction market haven’t stopped ELECTRI International – The Foundation for Electrical Construction, Inc., from launching an ambitious new fundraising initiative called Partners for Progress.
Partners for Progress is spearheaded by ELECTRI Council Chair Mike Mazzeo. At the Council’s recent meeting in Seattle, Mazzeo challenged all 135 Council members to each bring $100,000 in new commitments to the Foundation by the Council’s meeting at the 2010 convention of the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA). NECA is the Foundation’s primary sponsor.
“The Foundation is doing amazing work, but this is not the time to wait for things to happen. This is the time to push even harder,” Mazzeo said. “Every person on the Council is an entrepreneur at heart, and that’s what entrepreneurs do: they take risks to make things happen.”
Partners for Progress goal would raise $10 million in commitments, which would allow the Foundation to fund more industry research projects, expand ongoing research, and develop and implement programs based on completed research.
“ELECTRI International is the leading pro-active research and educational resource for the electrical contracting industry and we are honored to learn from and share ideas with such an amazing and respected group of individuals,” says Timothy Speno, new council member and VP of Job Site Solutions and Service for Milwaukee Electric Tool Corporation.
Milwaukee has also made a multi-year sponsorship commitment to NECA as an elite Premier Partner.
With a common focus on innovative ideas and solutions, Milwaukee Electric Tool and ELECTRI International appear to be the perfect match. "Like our new partner, we are relentlessly committed to lead by delivering disruptive innovation,” says Steven Richman, President of Milwaukee Electric Tool Corporation. “Fueled by a common passion, a partnership with ELECTRI International will allow us to continue to provide new products with best-in-class performance, and solutions to enhance end-user safety and productivity.”
The Foundation will provide regular updates about the campaign through a leaderboard detailing the Council members who have enlisted new Foundation gifts.
